Which açaí format is right for my menu?

Use purée or smoothie packs when you blend bowls and smoothies to order. Smoothie packs give the most consistent portions. Use scoopable açaí when you want to serve bowls straight from the tub with no blender. Use soft serve mix for soft serve machines and frozen dessert menus.

What is the difference between açaí purée and scoopable açaí?

Purée is açaí on its own and is blended with other ingredients before serving. Scoopable açaí is a finished, sorbet-style base that is ready to serve, which saves prep time and keeps texture consistent from bowl to bowl.

Why is açaí sold frozen?

Açaí berries spoil within a day or so of harvest, so they are made into purée and frozen right away to protect flavor, color and nutrients. Fresh açaí is almost never available outside the regions where it grows.

How should frozen açaí be stored and handled?

Keep açaí at 0°F (-18°C) or colder. Smoothie packs can be softened briefly before blending. Do not refreeze açaí once it has thawed.
