Why harvest seasons matter for frozen and canned sourcing

Every crop has a peak season, the weeks when it is harvested at its best quality and in its largest volume. That is when our production partners pack the most product. Concord Wholesale's IQF frozen and canned fruits and vegetables are packed at peak and sold year-round, so foodservice distributors, private-label buyers, beverage chains and food manufacturers get peak-season quality no matter when they order.

Peak season Main harvest, with the highest volume and quality. Most product is packed now.
Off-season Smaller harvests from staggered or off-season planting, with lower supply.

This calendar reflects the main tropical growing regions our production partners work in. Harvests shift with weather, region and planting schedules, and many crops are grown somewhere almost year-round, so use it as a guide rather than an exact schedule.

Peak-season quality, year-round supply

Packed at peak, ready in any month

Fresh fruit and vegetables only travel well for a short time. We work the other way: our production partners harvest at peak, then wash, cut and freeze or can each crop within its season.

  • IQF frozen: pieces are individually quick frozen, so they stay loose, portion by weight and keep their color and texture. Stored at 0°F (−18°C), IQF products keep for up to 24 months.
  • Canned: fruit and vegetables packed at peak are shelf-stable and ready for kitchens and production lines all year.
  • One supply plan: because product is packed at peak, you can plan menus and production runs around your calendar instead of the harvest calendar.

Frequently asked questions

When is mango season?

In the growing regions our production partners work in, the main mango harvest runs from February through May. The rest of the year brings smaller off-season harvests. Frozen mango packed during the spring peak keeps supply steady in every month.

When is dragon fruit season?

Dragon fruit peaks from June through October, with smaller harvests the rest of the year from staggered planting.

When is passion fruit season?

Passion fruit peaks from June through September, with lower volumes from October to May.

Why is frozen fruit available all year?

Fruit is harvested and frozen at peak season, when quality and volume are highest. Properly stored IQF fruit keeps for up to 24 months at 0°F (−18°C), so product packed at peak can be shipped in any month.

What does IQF mean?

IQF stands for individually quick frozen. Each piece of fruit or vegetable is frozen separately and quickly, so pieces stay loose in the bag, portion easily by weight and keep their texture, color and flavor.

Is this calendar exact?

No. It is a guide based on the main tropical growing regions our production partners work in. Weather, region and planting schedules shift harvests from year to year, and many crops are grown somewhere almost year-round.
